Lorde, better known at home as Ella Yelich-O'Connor, is an incredibly talented artist with a voice that has been described as "suede-like". She's only 16 years old people! 16! At 16 I was...gosh, I don't remember what I was doing... because it wasn't anything significant!!! Her song "Royals" is already a huge hit and her album "Pure Heroin" was recently released. Tonight I jumped on iTunes to check out the Marc Jacobs beauty playlist I got for free at Sephora today, (I'll have a full report on my haul from beauty wonderland soon!), and discovered A: Marc Jacobs likes exceptionally strange music B: the iTunes free single of the week, Lorde's "Ribs". Of course I jumped on it! A virtual high five to the young Kiwi for yet another great track! This girl is someone to watch. If she doesn't win a Grammy next year for Best New Artist I'll be shocked. I will fall straight out of my own skin. I'll be back soon with a report on Anarchy, fried grilled cheese, and a follow up on Ms. Spears.
